	LINCOLN NATIVE PASSES SUNDAY Services Held at Ashton Wednesday for Jed Halladay, 62 Jed Clyde Halladay, 62, native of Lincoln Township and for the past 24 years a resident of Grand Rapids, passed away Sunday morning, October 9, 1949, at 11 A.M. at his rooming place at 2158 Denwood, S.W., Grand Rapids, of a heart attack. A fall from a ladder the day previous was believed to have aggravated a heart condition. He was born in Lincoln Township, Osceola Co., on August 4, 1887, the son of the late Burton and Idella Austin Halladay. He was married at Ashton on September 21, 1907 to Miss Lovia Moore. He had been a roofing and siding contractor in Grand Rapids. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Blanche Anderson of Muskegon; three sons, Leon of Route 1, Marne, Roy of Hesperia and Robert of Muskegon; eight grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Frank Lincoln of Ashton and Mrs. William King of Grand Rapids; and three brothers, Austin of Ashton, Roy of Hollywood, N.M., and Lee of Grand rapids. The body was brought to the McDowell funeral home and then taken at noon Wednesday to the Ashton Methodist church where funeral services were conducted at 2 P.M. by the Rev. George Knauff. Interment took place in Ashton cemetery.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Blanche Anderson of Muskegon; three sons, Leon of Route 1, Marne, Roy of Hesperia and Robert of Muskegon; eight grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Frank Lincoln of Ashton and Mrs. William King of Grand Rapids; and three brothers, Austin of Ashton, Roy of Hollywood, N.M., and Lee of Grand rapids.
The body was brought to the McDowell funeral home and then taken at noon Wednesday to the Ashton Methodist church where funeral services were conducted at 2 P.M. by the Rev. George Knauff. Interment took place in Ashton cemetery.

According to Robert "Bud" Halladay Jed was a drunk and had sexual diseases. (Phylena Pratt Halladay's grandson)
