Culp was born in Stanwood,Michigan, July 15, 1858 and lived at home with his parentsuntil he was 18 years of age at which time he began workingfor himself. About one year later his parents moved toSparta.    At 33 years of age he was married to, EstherC. harrison of Thompsonville, Mich. Up to the last tenyears he has been actively engaged in the lumber business:and the last ten years he has spent in and about GrandRapids, living in Sparta for one year.    His mother was very well known to all inSparta and surrounding country. His last illness of one andone-half years has been patiently born and amid greatsuffering, having one foot amputated and it would benecessary to remove the other.    Beside the widow he leaves three sons ReubenJ. and Dewey S. of Grd. Rapids and Erwin J. of Marinette,Wis., one daughter, Mrs. Alto Small and one brother, Ernestof Grand Rapids. Funeral services were held from the SpartaBaptist Church Tuesday p. m. Rev. Harry Walker of GrandRapids officiated.
