| Notes |
- He went to Montana as a young man with his brothers, Earl and Sidney and homesteaded near Power, MT. He was inducted into WW I from Power, MT and served in France. After the war he sold the ranch in Montana and returned to Michigan and married. Leo was accidently burned when he was two years old and suffered extensive burns on his face and hands. He lost the little fingers on each hand but was an accomplished musician. During the war he was lost from his company and did not receive any mail from home for the duration. He consoled himself by playing the violin with several army bands. He was able to play any instrument even without the use of the two fingers.
