Harry Jones, 83, BPH Retiree Harry Jones, retired employee of the Brockville Psychiatric Hospital, died July 28 at the St. Vincent de Paul Hospital. A resident of the Rosedale Retirement Centre, he had been ill with heart disease for two years and was 83. Harold Davis Jones was born near Merrivkville May 11, 1910, a son of Thomas Jones and his wife, the former Margaret Gillan. He was raised and educated at  Merrickville. On Oct 1, 1930, at Maynard, he married Bernice Adeline Snowdon. The couple moved to Brockville in 1939, living first on Bartholomew ST. and then, for 40 years, on Emma St. Recently, due to ill health, they both moved to the Rosedale. Mr Jones was employed at Ralph's Dairy, Simonds Saw (now Universal Grinding Wheel ) and finally at the Ontario Hospital (Brockville Psychiatric Hospital). He had been retired for 18 years A member of Sussex Lodge No. 5 AF and AM, he also belonged to St. Peter's Anglican Church, Brockville, and did some church volunteer work. In addition to enjoying his home and family , he liked flower gardening and travelling. Mr Jones is survived by his wife, Bernice, and by two sons, Stanley and his wife Marjorie of Smiths Falls and Winston and his wife Lynne of Brockville. Also surviving is his sister, Eva Wilson of Merrickville,  as well as four grandchildren and five nieces and ten nephews. He was predeceased by brothers Eldon and Ted, by three sisters, Frances Cowell, Gertrude Halladay and Mary McCreary, and by a grandson, Ricky Jones.. Friends called at Irvine Funeral Home and Chapel, Brockville, where members of Sussex Lodge No. 5 AF and AM held a memorial service on July 29. The funeral took place the next day in St. Peter's Anglican Church, Brockville. Rev. Ken Baker officiated, assisted by Canon J.C. Garrett (retired). Burial followed at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Maitland. Pallbearers were Asahel Halladay, Clare McCreary, Glen McCreary, Jeff Jones, Davis  Jones and Trevor Wilson. Memorial donations to St. Peter's Anglican Church Memorial  Fund were gratefully accepted.
