  [Brøderbund WFT Vol. 8, Ed. 1, Tree #1827, Date of Import: 21 Oct 2000] Omar and Verna moved to a farm in Corktown and later to a farm at Collars Hill near Merrickville. After farming for twenty years they moved into the village of Merrickville in 1960. Omar worked for a dairy delivering dairy products for a number of years as well as farming. He also worked on the Rideau Canal for a few years. Later he was a clerk at the L.C.B.O. aposition he held until his retirement. Omar and Verna celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary on March 8,1994. Omar has diabetes and heart problems. In May 1993 he suffered a stroke and has been confined to a nursing home since. He is able to be up and about and able to come home periodically.
